Hi. Welcome back to the blog! So we have made it to the first half-term break and what can I say? It has been a busy few weeks. In my last post, I mentioned that I barely got a chance to ease back into work. Well, things did not exactly slow down after that!

I started the year with plans about what I wanted to focus on, but some unexpected responsibilities meant making adjustments along the way. I am learning that you can prepare and still have to figure some things out as you go.

Supporting children with special educational needs has been a meaningful part of this half term. It has reminded me of the importance of listening, being patient and recognising small steps of progress. I have also appreciated the care and commitment of the colleagues working alongside me.

I have been making an effort to step out and do things differently too. One of those experiences was going on a podcast! Putting myself out there in a different space was a step, and I am glad I took the opportunity.

I often encourage others to try something new, but I need that reminder myself sometimes. It is easy to think about what we would like to do; actually doing it takes a little courage.

If you have not watched my podcast appearance, you can find it here: Watch on YouTube.

For now, I am grateful for a chance to pause, spend time with my family and step away from the usual routine. Between work, studying and motherhood, there is always something to do, but I am learning to give myself some breathing room.

As I bring this post to a close, I hope everyone on half-term break gets a chance to rest and do something they enjoy. Give yourself some grace, acknowledge the little wins and make room for something new. 💛
